Hello and welcome to our blog where we will be sharing our adventures in the coming years. We will be posting a short flight report and some photographs after each flight or event and also sharing any exciting news and opportunities with you all on here as well.
So, to catch you up to where we are now: The Molly Mae Balloon Team was first established in 2008 and has been operating privately for many years in Northampton. However, in 2023, it was decided to ramp things up a little and expand. Jamie, our pilot and the owner of the team, put out a number of posts and requests for new members, and from that the current team was formed.
We began flying properly as a group at the Midlands Air Festival in 2024 and carried on from there. We did a number of flights over the year as well as taking part in the Northampton Balloon Festival. On top of this we managed to recruit even more enthusiasts to the team.
Going into 2025, we started our flying even earlier than in 2024 and year to date we have nearly flown as much already as we did in the whole of 2024!! So far this year we have held team training sessions and attended the Midlands Air Festival, with multiple other events booked in our calendar throughout the year too. More importantly some of the team have also made their first steps into learning to fly and we are actively looking to work with a company or sponsor to operate a balloon on their behalf.
